Welcome to The Professor's Writing Wife blog! I'm Sandra, and Aaron, The Professor,  is my husband who brings lots of intriguing topics and creatures - including snakes - into our lives.

When I'm not listening to his newest nerdly rants, I can be found escaping from the happy hum of home noises to my makeshift office in the corner of our bedroom and happily releasing the deluge of story ideas that are dammed in my head far too long for my liking...and my sanity. 

What will you find here? Bits of my current writing projects, writing tips, adventures with The Professor and anything in-between that life throws my way - all with the intent to entertain, inspire and educate, in my own simple way.

Have you ever had emotions overtake you without warning and you find yourself crying at the most inopportune time? That's what happened to me the day The Professor made me cry. I didn't know he was The Professor.  In fact, the only thing I knew about him was that he had two young daughters and a son, and wore the same black suit, which hung loose on his slender, tall form, every weekend at church.  It started when I saw one of his daughters hold up a drawing for him to see. He smiled, nodded and then she snuggled close against his side An ordinary common occurrence, right? But I couldn't help it. An invisible faucet behind my eyes turned on and salty tears began leaking down my cheeks It was the single thought slamming into my head as I watched the tender love between father and daughter unfolding there in the pew in front of me that caused the leaking of tears - my kids don't have that kind of safe love with their dad. Grains of Time

 Have you ever experienced times in your life when a central theme seems to be screaming at you through a book you are reading, people you are interacting with or a topic being discussed, all in the span of a day or two?  That happened to me a couple of weeks ago. Apparently I needed to be reminded about time.    I and a friend of mine have a book club which consists of the whopping amount of... the two of us. We take turns selecting a book and send voice texts with our thoughts and the points we want to make as we read through the book. Our current book is one she had selected titled  The Broken Way,  by Ann Voskamp. The Broken Way: A Daring Path Into the Abundant Life by Ann Voskamp  At least twice a month I make the forty-five minute drive down to my parent's house to visit and help with whatever they need.
